{"id":2310,"date":"2021-03-22T02:27:17","date_gmt":"2021-03-22T06:27:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/fccclintonma.org\/wp\/?page_id=2310"},"modified":"2021-03-22T02:29:37","modified_gmt":"2021-03-22T06:29:37","slug":"lessons-for-living-from-the-bible-in-everyday-english-lesson-91","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/fccclintonma.org\/wp\/lessons-for-living-from-the-bible-in-everyday-english-lesson-91\/","title":{"rendered":"Lessons for Living from the Bible in Everyday English by Dennis Magee"},"content":{"rendered":"<h5>Lesson 91: Biblical Principles for Marriage<\/h5>\n<\/div>\n<div align=justify>\n<ul style=\"padding-left: 20px;\">\n<li>\n<p>God, not man, created the institution of marriage.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Only by making God the center of our lives, can we experience life and marriage to its fullest.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>God has a design for marriage that He gives us in His word.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 100px;\"><strong>[Read Ephesians 5]<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul style=\"padding-left: 20px;\">\n<li>\n<p>The Word shows here that this is not a one-sided submission but a reciprocal relationship.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>God also has a design for love in marriage.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>If we live by it, this can be the difference between a marriage that is successful and mutually fulfilling vs. one that over the years becomes only a co-existence with no life in it.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 100px;\"><strong>[Read 1 Corinthians 13]<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul style=\"padding-left: 20px;\">\n<li>\n<p>These ideals cannot be perfected in this life by any person or couple.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>But God commands us to try.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>How well we succeed is very strongly related to the relationship each person in the   marriage has with Jesus Christ.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Christ is the source of love and as we grow in Him, our capacity for love in marriage grows toward God\u2019s ideal.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>To grow in Christ attend church, read your Bible and pray regularly.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Given the stresses and allurements of this life it is easy to fall away.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>But we need to persevere, because in the end, love for God, love for each other, and    love for others is all that really matters.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Lesson 91: Biblical Principles for Marriage God, not man, created the institution of marriage.
