Lesson 80: Having the Bible is More Important than Seeing a Miracle

For many people, they believe if God would speak to them or do a miracle, they would find it easier to have faith. In the books of Peter (1 and 2), he tells us that he, James and John witnessed Jesus’ transfiguration on the mountain. They heard the voice of God and saw the prophets Moses and Abraham. Yet Peter concluded that this one-time experience is not nearly as valuable as having God’s word, the Bible, because faith comes from reading and hearing the word, not from a revelation. When we do this the living word, which is the spirit of Christ, enters into us the more we read and hear it.
