The Voice of the Martyrs — “i am n”
Virtual Event Rebroadcast
Friday, April 26 at 7:00 PM
This past March 8th, “The Voice of the Martyrs” hosted a live-streamed “i am n Virtual Event.” The Missions & Evangelism Team, following discussion with Pastor Gary, signed FCC up for the event. It was decided, however, to show a rebroadcast of the event as a Special Movie Night, in April, to allow us to get past the busy Lenten and Easter period, first (our sign-up allows us this flexibility).
From the “i am n” brochure:
“Ten years ago, the self-proclaimed Islamic State (ISIS) began marking Christian homes and churches with the Arabic letter “n” or “ن”, as its fighters overran parts of Iraq. The symbol (“n” for “Nazarene”) marked the buildings as belonging to Christians and served as a threat to all believers in the area. …
The Voice of the Martyrs presents I am N, a virtual event that will include updates on Iraq and firsthand stories from three Christians who faced intense persecution in places dominated by Islam. You’ll learn how God sustained and encouraged them through their suffering and how he is still using them today to help advance his kingdom. Join us for these inspiring testimonies of costly faith, and enjoy worship music from Steven Curtis Chapman. …
Heather Mercer: In 2001, Heather and others on her ministry team were captured by the Taliban for sharing the gospel in Afghanistan. After being tried for a capital crime, they were miraculously released through prayer and help from the U.S. military.
Hassan Abduraheem: In December 2015, Pastor Hassan was arrested on national security charges for providing aid to a persecuted Christian. Though he was sentenced to 12 years in prison in Sudan, he received a presidential pardon and was freed from prison in 2017.
John Samara: Born in Damascus, Syria, John leads a team that proclaims the gospel in unreached areas of the Middle East and North Africa. He and his team also help build up and equip local, often-persecuted Christian communities.”
Attendance is FREE, and each attendee will receive a card enabling them to get a free copy of the book “When Faith Is Forbidden: 40 Days on the Frontlines with Persecuted Christians,” which tells the stories of “men and women who boldly live out their Christian faith at great cost.”
We hope you will join us for this Special Movie Night event! And please invite anyone else that you feel would also want to watch it with you!
