Lesson 70: Don’t Fret Over Evil or Violent People

From Psalm 37: Do not fret because of evil men. Refrain from anger and turn from wrath. Do not fret, it only leads to evil. Turn from evil, trust in God and do good. There is a future for the man of peace but the future of the wicked will be cut off.

Psalm 36: Evil men do not fear God. Even at night, in his bed, when thoughts are free to range and set the course for the day’s activities, he plots evil and commits himself to a sinful course; he does not reject what is wrong. He does not meditate on God’s commands or let a godly heart instruct him. He does not commune with God, think of Him, or reflect on His promises.

Do not envy violent men or seek to copy any of their ways. To reflect too closely or too long on violent men and their deeds can cause us to be like them.
